Subject: NorthPoint lawsuit
Ms. Schoenmann,
I want to thank you for you continued efforts in the lawsuit brought by
NorthPoint Communications against Verizon.
I would like to give you my background with regard to NorthPoint. I was the XXth person hired on with
NorthPoint (so I take this very personal). During the first year I worked
12-16 hour days to get things off the ground. We got little cooperation from
all the ILEC's. I must tell you that Verizon was the toughest to deal with.
I was on the front lines in our dealing with them. I worked with the
technicians and they were, in my mind drilled by their management to be as
difficult as possible with us. This reminds of a particular situation I
experienced while at a training class in Manhattan in May of 1998.
A co-worker and I were getting training on a trouble ticketing system. We got
to a certain point and I mentioned that this seems like an odd sort of drawn
out way to do something. At that point the instructor said 'We were
legislated into opening or network to you...and we're not going to make this
easy'. That statement has stuck with me ever since.
I appreciate the job you're doing. These companies need to be taught a
lesson so please continue to go after them hard so they don't get away with
this.
Thank-You again,
XXXXX XXXXXXX
